WhatsApp blocked millions of accounts
According to the report, WhatsApp banned about 2 million accounts in India in the month of August 2021. WhatsApp said in its compliance report that the company had received 420 complaints in August and that WhatsApp had blocked a total of 20,70,000 accounts. Between June 16 and July 31, WhatsApp registered 594 complaints and blocked more than 3 million Indian accounts.
The reason behind these measures
WhatsApp recently said that 95 per cent of the accounts it has blocked are due to spam messages from those accounts. Globally, WhatsApp has blocked about 8 million accounts a month.
How WhatsApp keeps users’ attention
WhatsApp has clarified that due to their end-to-end encryption policy, they cannot view users ‘messages and to protect users’ safety, they understand the signals received from the accounts, features that work without encryption, and user reports.
Let me tell you, due to the new IT rules announced by India, all social media platforms are required to submit a compliance report every month. In which it is necessary to talk about all the statistics to know how many complaints have been registered to the platform and how much action has been taken against the choosers.
